This is where I will be posting my Narrative Project for my English Composition 1 class. I must admit, I did not have a clue as to what narrative writing was. I wasn't exposed to this form of writing the years I attended High School. And the writing assignments that was giving were more essay type of writings or free writing if anything. I have come to grow and love this class personally, because it showed me how to thrive, shape and grow as a writer. The lesson I have learned so far, in this class has helped me better understand the genres of writing, like composing a emotional scene in Blog #3 and Blog #4. Or Narrative writing in Blog #5, and reflection seen here in my reflection-vlog.
The event I choose to write about was the day of my Mom funeral. And even thought what had transpired was only minutes long, it seemed everlasting. Due to intense emotions that I was forced to deal with at the early age of seven. Confusion, hurt, and pain and be scared were all fairly new emotions to me, but I had never experienced it along with so many other that I cared for, on such an extreme level. My Narrative gives insight into what and how fast my world was flipped upside down, and how I was able to overcome the grief, sadness and loss something so simple as a touch, and loving unbreakable bond. Hopefully, through description, action and theme, my story touches you in a way that will allow you to experience my experience, as I did on that unforgettable day when I was a child. |
